DAY 39 of #100daysofJesus - Seek Learning

 DAY 39 of #100daysofJesus

Seek learning.
Jesus taught, through a revelation to the prophet Joseph Smith, that we should "seek out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith."
Learning is an important principle of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Latter-day prophets have encouraged us to gain education and to be continuous learners.
I believe the teaching that "whatever principle of intelligence we attain unto in this life, it will rise with us in the resurrection." We can't take much with us when we die, but we can take with us what we've learned!
However, education can also be a trap for those who choose not to put God first in their lives. Paul prophesied, in an epistle to Timothy, that in the last days there would be people who are "ever
learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
The prophet Jacob in the Book of Mormon also gave this warning about human nature:
"When they are learned they think they are wise, and they hearken not unto the counsel of God, for they set it aside, supposing they know of themselves, wherefore, their wisdom is foolishness and it profiteth them not. And they shall perish. But to be learned is good if they hearken unto the counsels of God."
Jesus wants us to be life-long learners. Soak up knowledge and education. Learn everything you can, and make it a life-long pursuit. Just be careful to never let it replace your faith in and dependence on God.
